Dear Friend, DJT,

51 days until the election. Can you believe it? Maybe I’ll be released from this vigil at that time, but I am ready for whatever the future will bring. I hope you are, too. These times call for every ounce of grace we have, & I am counting on you to face Nov. 4 with all of the grace that you can muster.

I see that you are on your way to the Biggest Little City today to have a campaign rally at Minden airport. Are you sure you want to convene 5000 people in a state that is trying to contain CV by limiting gatherings to 50 people? As you well know, both the Reno-Tahoe Airport & the McCarran International Airport authorities refused to allow you to rally on their premises. Perhaps it would be best to reconsider the wisdom of the rally idea. Are you proving Jared right in trying to “touch the flame”?

Speaking of flames, please express your concern for those of us breathing smoke out here on the West Coast. As you can see from the frontpage story in the WP, “blazes are engulfing us” or as others might say, “We be Burnin.” Folks in Portland are not used to this kind of thing because it’s usually wet there. Another example that CLIMATE CHANGE is real.

We appreciate your declarations of federal emergency, but a sympathetic tweet would show that you understand our distress. At the very least you could put to rest the rumors that antifa or the Proud Boys started the fires.

There is one bright note related to the fires. Our Gov just signed a bill that would enable our 2200 incarcerated firefighters to get their EMT certification so they can become professionals when they get out of prison. These brave souls live in 43 camps around the state & have “minimum custody status” so will probably not run away or harm anyone. They only make $3.00 a day, so they deserve something when they are released. We don’t have as many eligible inmates this year due to CV so maybe this new law will be an incentive to some new folks to join the effort.

            HYITL,
