My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

Congratulations on your speech last night! While I did not agree with everything you said, I was thrilled that you did not say the “I” word, nor did you demonize anyone. I’m sorry that you neglected to shake NPP’s hand causing her to rip up your speech. That was a low point. The best part was when you honored Iain Lanphier & his great-grandpa, Charles McGee, the Tuskagee airman who flew 409 combat missions in 3 different conflicts including shooting down a Focke-Wulf 190. I encourage you to watch his interview, which you can find archived at the National WWII Museum, where he makes it clear that he didn’t want to kill the pilot, he just wanted to destroy his airplane. The guy is a specimen! Co-piloting a plane on his 99th b-day and tossing the coin at the Super Bowl. WOW!

I am thrilled this morning to see in the LAT that my Gov. GCN has posthumously pardoned my fellow Quaker, Bayard Rustin, for his conviction of a morals charge. He was caught with 2 guys having sex in a car in 1953. He served a couple of months in jail. I told you about him on Jan 19. Maybe you could host a WH viewing of the POV movie about him, Brother Outsider, so you can get some ideas about AVP. I’d be happy to join you & could invite some Friends.

            Be your best self (BYBS),
