My dear Friend, DJT,

How fitting that it is a rainy day for Veteran’s Day? I just caught the tail end of your ceremony at Arlington Cemetery. Its sobering to think about all of the people who have served our country & sacrificed so much.

While you are out & about today, I hope you will go over to the Native American Veteran’s Memorial on the grounds of the National Museum of the American Indian. It just opened today & I’m surprised you didn’t take part in the ceremony. Did you know that Native Americans serve at a higher rate than any ethnic group? You could go and tie a prayer cloth in hopes for healing us all.

I encourage you to take a look at today’s WP to see the photos of the elderly WWII vets taken by Jeffrey Rease. He’s on a mission to photograph as many as he can before they have all passed on. He’s capturing their grace & dignity while honoring their service. It’s a wonderful project.

Have you heard of JJ DID TIE BUCKLE? Apparently, it is the mnemonic Marine recruits learn to memorize the corps’s essential leadership traits. They include “enthusiasm” & “decisiveness,” which you have plenty of, but also include, “tact,” “unselfishness” & “dependability.” I think you could work on those. I read about them in Elliot Ackerman piece about leadership in the NYT today. He is hoping we can get to a place where Americans care about each other, & argues that we need a leader that will get us there. I encourage you to be that kind of leader for your remaining days in office.

            BYBS,
