I am wondering about this potential real estate deal where the US somehow "purchases" Greenland. I know it's not your top priority today, but I am curious about the idea of "purchasing" a country. When we made the Louisiana "purchase" from France, the people living on the land got the raw end of the deal. I have a feeling the same thing will happen to the 59,000 Greenlanders, most of whom are Inuit, if you make your "deal." I have a feeling that this whole thing is about China who has a pending project to mine Greenland's uranium. As you well know, that stuff is packed with energy that can be used in so many ways, and it's a lot closer to the surface now that the glaciers are melting in Kuannersuit. As you may not know, uranium mines are gross! Not only is a lot of rock moved but it creates a radioactive nightmare! Just ask the Diné (Navajo)in Northern Arizona who suffer from cancer caused by the mines in their neighborhood.

I encourage you to change your discourse regarding Greenland from "real estate deal" to "diplomacy."  Ask Larry Kudlow, to consult the 2009 their Self-governance Act, which specified the powers of the Greenland government, including over economic affairs, and left Denmark with oversight of the island’s defense and foreign affairs. Once you both understand who has the authority to speak on behalf of the people of Greenland, give Premier Kim Kielsen a call and discuss projects that might be mutually beneficial. Also, keep in mind that, according toJulian Brave NoiseCat,"for indigenous people, land and water are regarded as sacred, living relatives" and lots of the Inuits are reluctant to see their land torn up.

If you meet with Denmark's PM, Mette Frederiksen, on your upcoming visit to Europe, she can help you understand why she says, "the idea of selling Greenland is absurd." She's a fascinating politician, an anti-immigration socialist. You, two, will have a lot to talk about.

            Best,

            RCA
