My Dear Friend and President, DJT,

I hope you had a nice Sunday. I just read the Tweet that you wrote 26 minutes ago and I wonder what exactly you do when you sit behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Do you stare at your phone like the kids in my University classes do? Are you watching the Twitter Feed? Since I don’t do that, I don’t get it, and I still don’t understand when you are bragging about the economy, you have to add in that the Democrats are “flailing” and “lying like crazy.” It is quite tempting to use the 7th grade retort, “it takes one to know one,” but I will refrain.

Speaking of the Resolute Desk, how does it feel to do business there? Can you feel the spirit of JFK and FDR coming through it? Let me help you with the history of the desk since I assume you aren’t sure about it, given that you told Emmanuel and Brigette Macronthat it was from 1814. The wood was originally oak from England fashioned into a ship called the Resolute that was used to rescue an Artic explorer. It got stuck in the Artic in 1854, was found and returned to the US in 1855, refurbished and given back to Queen Victoria in 1856 as a peace offering. When the ship was taken out of commission in the 1880s, Queen Victoria had its timbers made into desks and gave one of them to Rutherford B Hayes. FDR used it but it got put into storage until Jackie O brought it back to life and her kids like to hide under it. I am glad to hear that you don’t put your feet on it like Barack did and that you don’t let people mess with the papers that you have on it. If that desk could talk it would have some stories to tell!

I hope you enjoy your lunch with Mike P. today.
