My dear Friend and president, DJT,

Kudos! Your speech got a positive score of 63.6 from Factba.se! I loved the way you introduced us to great Americans, living and dead, to illustrate your idea of "the spirit, daring and defiance, excellence, adventure, courage and confidence, loyalty and love that built this country into the most exceptional nation in the history of the world." That superlative at the end might have been a bit over the top, but I know that exaggeration is what you do best, so I can let it go. The WP described the day as "Wet and joyous and weird ... all dark clouds and loud patriotism." I wish I could have been there to survey the scene.

We had a quiet, sunny 4th here in Davis. Our neighbors came over for hamburgers and we talked about you and baseball. It was nice.

Thanks for including Sister Deirdre Byrnein your introductions last night. I suspect she is the only nun, and Army surgeon in the world.I hope you will invite her to the WH so she can help you understand how to love refugees. She's spent some time caring for them in her clinic with the Little Workers of the Sacred Heartsin DC. She says they've been "tortured, beaten, thrown in prison" and she helps them to heal from those traumas by treating them with love and respect. I think we could learn a lot from her.

I hope that you enjoy some R & R in NJ this weekend.
