My dear Friend and President, DJT,

How was the Ball last night? Did you dance with Melania? She looked fabulous! 

I haven’t owned a formal gown in years and haven’t been to a “Ball” since high school. I went to 3 or 4 of them. At the first one I drank too much and got sick. Quite embarrassing and not at all romantic. At the Junior Prom, I got my first kiss from Alan Gunn. I thought that would be the start of something special and then he disappeared and I never saw him again. That was confusing! Did you have any romance or drama at last night’s event?

It’s exciting to see that the world has come to some agreements about diminishing Climate Change. I know that deep in your heart you know that’s the right thing. That’ll be our little secret.

I think you should reconsider shutting down the government. Our campus was shut down during the worst of the Camp Fire because the smoke was so bad. It confused everyone and created all kinds of unintended consequences. It’s best to keep the operation going. I encourage you to make a deal so those IRS workers can stay on the job. We need all the revenue we can get.

Did you hear about the parting comments from the Senators that are leaving office? The CSM had an interesting article about it. I liked Jeff Flake’s sentiments the best. “Let us recognize from this place here today that the shadow of tyranny is once again enveloping parts of the globe. And let us recognize as authoritarianism reasserts itself in country after country that we are by no means immune.” Eloquent, don’t you think?

I was delighted to hear that you find the WH a “happy place.” Perhaps you will sit by a toasty fire there today, have some hot chocolate and enjoy some quality time with Barron.
