My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Since I have been transformed, I decided to try a different approach to today’s letter. Rather than focus on your activities, I’m going to scrutinize that speech you gave at the Trumpalooza (oops) by looking at the parts where StressLens measured a departure from your usual cadence. Their theory seems to be that these anomalies from typical speech patterns can be used to infer those topics that we are most passionate about.
Since FiscalNote sells the idea that those are moments when you are “stressed.” Anthropic’s AI says it’s a kind of lie detector, but I consider it to find those moments when your true feelings might be coming through so today, I’m going to look at the five anomalies in last night’s remarks.
StressLens metric gave you a “strong” score at the 13 minute mark when you were talking about having rallies in 35 states & proclaimed, “I'll be coming back to TX because we have to elect Ken Paxton (WKP2). We have to. We have to elect him. And if I have to, I'll come back twice or three times.”
According to the Independent, you went on to list several things that you don’t like about WKP2, so maybe when you talked about getting him elected, you felt duplicitous. Or maybe you love campaigning in TX & were expressing your enthusiasm about that.
When you got the next strong score of 2.16, you said, “he is the single greatest attorney general you've ever had, & maybe the top attorney general in the whole US,.” I can’t tell if this is exciting news or another lie.
Your 3rd strong score (2.273) came when you were talking about the WH ballroom & said, “Zero tax dollars for the ballroom, zero tax dollars.” Why did that set you off? Maybe it’s because you know that’s not true or because you are bothered that everyone is up in arms about that project.
You scored 2.205 explained “With your vote in this election, you can tell these far-left lunatics & fanatics that America is not for sale to them or to anybody else.” Did this fire you up because you know that you are profiting from your office or was it because Democrats make you crazy?
You scored 3.004 near the end when you remarked, “those same people are trying to get power over you in this election & they are all voting Democrat, okay? They're all voting, every one of them, & you can't let it happen.” I wonder if you are profoundly afraid of everyone voting or if you are worried that your voters will vote for the Democratic Party.
Do you think StressLens identified when you were lying? Or did it just find those times when you employed your acting ability & your skill at drawing on emotion to make a point? Maybe you aren’t acting at all & you get animated when talking about WKP2, the ballroom & this election. I doubt anyone, even you, knows for sure.
I will end my letter as usual by reminding you to consider Burma. Today’s Irrawaddy features the headline, “Min Aung Hlaing Revives Thein Sein-Era Team for New ‘Peace’ Push.” I consider that good news. How about you?
