My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Yesterday’s letter was long so today’s will be shorter. At least that’s my intention. I’m heading out to visit with my surrogate grandkids today & am eager to get going.
What’s up with this Supreme Court ruling about mail-in voting? It’s all over the news but according to Rick Hasen, a UCLA law professor, quoted in the AP “This doesn’t necessarily mean anything in terms of November.” My local registrar, Jesse Salinas, says he doesn’t know precisely which envelope designs comply with the new rules & dismissed the idea of a last-minute revision in procedures. Since you tend to vote by mail yourself, are you sure you want to take this right away from the rest of America?
It’s too bad that it was so hot in the Rose Garden yesterday for your celebration of the start of the new school year. The Washington Times did not report on the contents of the event, instead it showed a picture of a girl sleeping in her mom’s lap. The Deseret News featured a similar photo. It seems folks aren’t too tuned into school choice right now since they can’t afford gas. Walking to school is the cheapest option & that tends to be a public option. Maybe best to stop making such a big deal about the Education Freedom Tax Credit which many think is just a tax shelter for rich suburbanites because the income cap is 300% of local median income.
Please give a word of encouragement to the freedom fighters in Burma. According to the Irrawaddy they are “exhausted but not giving up.” They remain committed to bringing democracy to their country & are devoting their lives to that effort. It’s an inspiration & more people should know about it!!!!
BYBS,
