Are you sure you want to go to Geneva, Ohio, today to see the finale of the “Patriot Games?” I ask because it’s not gotten the kind of publicity to draw much media attention & even if folks do tune into ESPN’s airing of the event, I doubt they’ll keep watching because the kids aren’t great athletes & the obstacle courses they are running aren’t that interesting. Since the criteria for selecting the kids seems to be related to their religious orientations & political commitments, their strength & agility aren’t all that impressive. You might want to cancel the trip to avoid the embarrassment of the whole thing.

Have you given much thought to my suggestions to give up on EFO? According to the AP you are back to the idea of putting economic sanctions on Iran. They concluded that you are “essentially arguing that U.S. voters are better able to tolerate any economic inconveniences than Iranians, who have been in a state of economic hardship for years.” I’m afraid there’s no elegant solution to the problem of Iran’s nuclear capabilities but we both know that WINTA so best to stop threatening to blow them up.

Speaking of economic sanctions, please remind our allies in Canada to avoid doing business in Burma. I bring that up because today’s Irrawaddy has a headline, “Canadian Firm to Start Drilling for Gas Off War-Torn Myanmar’s Coast." It’s hard to tell if the Canadian government has jurisdiction over the company since it’s “Singapore-based” so please have your people do some investigating before calling Mark Carney.

It’ll be interesting to see how today’s primaries turn out. The governor’s race in WI is especially interesting. I’m heading there tomorrow.
