My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

I just got a text from one of my beloved neighbors who went to the hospital last night to have her heart checked out. She ended up spending the night there which makes me think the doctors didn’t like what they saw. She is the energizer bunny of our community, always busy keeping our place spotless, always with a smile & a kind word. She’s so responsible that she just texted me to tell me that she wouldn’t be here to water our planter boxes.

She is truly what the Buddhists would call a Noble Friend who is trustworthy, reliable, compassionate & patient. You need more people like her in your sphere!

I learned about Noble Friends this AM from reading Alan Clements(AC)’ piece in Mishima about why it’s so important for us to insist on Proof of Life for Aung San Suu Kyi (ASSK). To make his case he draws on ASSK’s relationship with her Noble Friend & teacher, Sayadaw U Pandita, who “understood that genuine strength is inseparable from compassion, that wisdom without conscience becomes dangerous, & that leadership begins not with authority but with character. The highest purpose of power is not self-preservation. It is the reduction of suffering.”

I hope you will surround yourself with some Noble Friends, like my neighbor, so you can become more effective at the reduction of suffering. I’m afraid that JV’s latest dealings with Iran are not going to result in this aim. The best way to relieve suffering around the word is to not insist on a deal, just exit.

Susie Wiles might be the Noble Friend, you need. Clearly, Steven Miller is not.

BYBS,
