My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Have you been out to enjoy the 7.5 inches of snow that is blanketing your neighborhood right now? How about slapping on some snowshoes or X-country skis & taking a lap around the Mall? It would be quite an adventure since it’s 1 mile from the WH, through President’s Park & the Ellispse to get to the German-American Friendship Garden on the Mall & then another mile to get from Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. So that round trip would be more than 4 miles. If you went all the way to the Ulysses S Grant Memorial, your whole trip would be twice as long. Completing this outdoor adventure would create a sensation that might divert attention from the murder of Alex Pretti, so Susan Wiles could figure out a way to acknowledge the harm caused by that incident.
I encourage you to reconsider investing so much $$ into the unpopular efforts of removing people from our country. Clearly, ICE has gone amok & is wrecking havoc. Their misguided, undisciplined actions remind me of the kinds of things the drug addled “soldiers” conscripted by the junta do to their countrymen in Burma. You don’t want to be known as the POTUS who followed in the footsteps of MAH in ruining his nation by waging war on his own citizens.
I recommend reading about MLK’s Beloved Community. Doing so might help you envision a different path. Habitat for Humanity concisely sums it up as follows:
A Beloved Community includes diversity & allows for tension undergirded by love & leading to transformation. In a Beloved Community, neighbors truly love one another as they love themselves. They are open to change. & committed to tangible action. They work to create an environment where humility, open communication, dialogue & listening become the standard. They ensure that their work is infused with courage & accountability.”
I’m going to share this sentiment with my co-chousing group which is working on a revision of our values & mission statements. Maybe you can share this with your cabinet & the GOP so you call can set a new course. Better yet, give MAH a call & share these with him as well.
