My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Have you heard of the Eisenhower Matrix (EM)? I happened upon it this AM when searching the phrase, “how to make urgent decisions when no one is in charge.” That’s come up here at Washington Common, because the electronic key system device on the door to our trash room isn’t working so the garbage collectors could not do their job this week. A member sent an email to the community at the wee hours of Christmas morn demanding action. While the problem is critical, it certainly did not need to be addressed on Dec 25. What are your thoughts on this matter?
The EM has 4 quadrants along 2 dimensions – urgency & importance. Scholars have determined that people often get these mixed up & choose to do something that feels urgent, when instead they should be doing something that has greater importance, but perhaps less urgency.
I’m afraid I’m seeing some of this confusion in your admin. For example, addressing the issues in Nigeria did not need to happen so quickly. The situation there has been festering for a long time & while it’s vitally important to the Nigerians it’s not going to be resolved immediately. A more discerning approach would have enabled your team to be creative in finding a peaceful step forward in addressing the various issues between the many factions vying for control.
Please put the creative minds in your admin to work on the situation in Burma. Like Nigeria, it will not be solved quickly, but it is important. Since your team is once again discerning that WINTA, I urge you to only consider non-violent actions to influence the junta and the EAOs to stop killing each other & the citizens.
Speaking of creative responses to sites of conflict, whose idea was it to establish a demilitarized zone in the Donbas region & around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant? While working out the details might be complicated, it seems like a brilliant idea! I assume it would work something like the DMZ in Korea. I don’t know much about that, but it has prevented violence for 72 years, so it seems to be working.
I will hold you & VOZ in the Light as you meet tomorrow & hope you figure out some of the specifics so the Russians will stop attacking the cities of Ukraine.
