Are you excited about the Army-Navy game? Will you be toasty in a heated sky box? I’m going to watch the Aggies play IL St at 2:00 & I’ll be seated on the metal bleachers. It’s going to be chilly!!!
You should probably remain neutral since you are commander of all of the kids on the field, but it’ll be hard to resist cheering for the underdogs (Army), since they are celebrating their 250th Anniversary. I’d bet on the Midshipmen, given their superior record this year, but it would be exciting to see an upset.
SoW, I noticed that you spent quite a bit of time with the 1980 USA Hockey team in the Oval Office yesterday as you signed HR 452, the Miracle on Ice bill. Who had the idea of writing that Bill & why did you sign it yesterday? At the event I heard several comments about how MN needed to be fixed. I understand that the Gov Waltz is not your favorite person, but you don’t want to appear to have a vendetta against him, do you?
Are you sure you want to be investing so much of your time indulging your fascination with sports when your GOP crew is scrambling to work through making healthcare affordable? It’s complicated & everyone has a different idea about what counts as adequate coverage & how to handle pharmacy benefit managers. Your guidance on these details might be helpful.
You also might want to devote more attention to peace keeping.
So many of the conflicts that you hoped to resolve continue to fester. As I hope you know, yesterday, two bombs exploded in Kyiv terrorizing the citizens. The junta’s bombing of the hospital in Rahkine State has gotten international attention. In the DRC, the M23's has launched a new offensive in South Kivu. In Gaza, flooding has added to the suffering & Hamas still has one hostage. Thailand & Cambodia continue to bomb each other. All this suffering around the world might be alleviated with more eyes on it.
Finally, the flooding in Washington looks awful. Please make sure the people on the Skagit & Snohomish know you care as much about them as you do about football & hockey.
