My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Thanks for your energy, positivity & bright smile. You provide a model for persistence, resilience & conviction. I don’t always agree with you, especially when it comes to military spending, but I do see your devotion to democracy & making things work. I don’t see anyone stepping forward who can win our upcoming election, so I support you & encourage you to keep on keeping on.

            Relieving 150,000 borrowers from their student debt should get you some votes. I hope we do more to prevent students from going into debt in the first place, or at least educate them better about credit, compound interest & how loans work.

            Did you enjoy your event with the Getty’s last night? I saw the protestors on the news. They want to make sure you are aware of their concerns. Please acknowledge them.

            When you visit with the Kleins tonight, please ask if they helped UCD with our study on promising stem cell-based therapy for Crohn’s disease. As you know, they are ambassadors for regenerative medicine, so they must be excited about all of the projects using stem cells to heal folks. Please send them my gratitude for their philanthropy.

            Did you see the news about the guy caught trying to sell Burmese uranium so he could buy surface-to-air missiles & other weapons on behalf of an ethnic insurgent group? Some say he’s a member of Japan’s Yakuza organized crime syndicate. It makes me wonder how many transactions like this are going on.

Surface-to-air missiles should be easy to track & I hope those who build them have an idea where they end up. I’d like guns tracked in the same way. Then incidents like the recent shooting in Burnsville, MN, might not happen.
