My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Feb 1 was 3rd anniversary of the coup in Burma. Did you get any intel about the silent strike there yesterday? My news sources did not cover it.

I need your help in spreading the word about the struggle for democracy going on there. I took our job candidate to the local Burmese restaurant yesterday & gave them some information about it. I also told a few colleagues. I appreciate that you sanctioned shipping company, Myanma Five Star Lines, Shwe Byain Phyu Group of Companies & its owner Thein Win Zaw, his wife & 2 adult children. Hitting people in the pocketbook is a better tool than physical violence!

            Speaking of which I am also grateful that you sanctioned the Israeli West Bank settlers who attacked Palestinians. Based on the descriptions of the 4 men in the NYT, they have repeatedly assaulted their neighbors. I’m not convinced that the sanctions will have much impact since they don’t seem like rich men. Are folks in the US sending them $$?

            How did your visits to Detroit & Philly go? I saw a clip of you at the Union Hall reciting your usual speech including one of your favorite words, “best workers in the world & that’s not HYPERBOLE.” Perhaps I perk up because your word is almost the same as “hyperbola,” the word used by mathematicians to discuss “an open curve with two branches, the intersection of a plane with both halves of a double cone.” It’s hard to visualize so it’s a scary concept.

            I’m off to my happy place this morning. In honor of Black History month, the 5th graders will watch a short video about Benjamin Banneker, the Black Michelangelo of George Washington’s time. I hope our gang is on their best behavior.
