My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB

How are you doing? Still on a high from the passage of the Inflation Recovery Act in the House yesterday? I hope you take some time to bask in the glory of this success, because when you get back to DC you will be entering what the press calls the “tricky post-victory period” when you have to help every American appreciate the positive impacts the Act will have. The NYT says that “robust public relations blitz (about Obama Care) never really bore fruit.” I hope your people have some new tools so your publicity efforts are more successful.

I am most excited about the broadband internet for rural communities and the gun safety measures. I am skeptical about the “hodge podge” approach to subsidizing decarbonization, but time will tell.

I had my own magical moment at my mailbox yesterday when I spied an envelope from THE WHITE HOUSE. The note inside was printed on gold embossed, heavy bond stationary, so even though it was a form letter, it made me feel special to read, “hearing from passionate individuals like you inspires me every day.”

Your letter was dated Aug 8, 2022. That day I wrote to you about 8888 day in Burma, your trip to KY & how you should be bragging about your latest victories. I don’t know if something in that letter caught the attention of your readers or if someone noticed that I write almost every day. Whatever the case may be, I appreciated the encouragement to “help write the next chapter of the American story.” Thanks corresponding!

Please continue to consider how we can help the people of Burma return to democratic rule in a peaceful fashion.

            BYBS,

            RCA
