My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Thanks for protecting the pensions of thousands of workers. I wish that effort was on the front pages of my newspapers, but alas, it is not. I’m afraid editors didn’t find your trip to OH newsworthy. All I could find was one ¶ on Cleveland.com mentioning it. Maybe your next communications director can get your name on the front page. I hope so!

            Your Medal of Freedom ceremony was featured in the WP today.  I loved learning about  Sister Simone Cambell & her work to overcome the division & rancor in our country by getting people to listen to one another. Her Nuns on the Bus folk are asking lots of good questions related to the Dobb’s decision, including, “Will state legislatures continue to pass invasive and punitive measures that create a culture of surveillance and criminalization of women, including those experiencing ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage?” Seeing Catholic activists making some noise gives me hope.

Did you know that yesterday was the Dalai Lama’s 87th birthday? It’s not too late to call & congratulate him on the new museum & library that just opened in his honor. If PM Nodi (NDM) reached out, you can, too.

            Speaking of NDM, he’s got a tricky situation in the Manipur region, where 2 Indian citizens were killed when they went into Burma to meet a friend & now the town has erupted in protest.. It’s so unfortunate that the unrest in Burma is spilling over the border.

            Please ask Sec Antony Blinken to bring up Burma at the G20 meeting in Bali this week.
