My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

Let’s see if I can write this letter in 9 minutes. Like you, I have a busy day ahead & am squeezing in this missive before heading off to meet with my Dean. I have three things to mention to you.

1)    Senator Ralph Warnock! Fantastic news!!!! According to the NYT, ‘he likened voting to a “prayer for the world we desire,” and called democracy the “political enactment of a spiritual idea,” that everyone has a divine spark… (& has) the ability to do both the poetry and the prose of politics.” Some think he’s as talented as BHO & WJC. That makes me think he could run for POTUS in 2024 & you could retire. Please consider that option.

2)    Chip factories? While it may be better to build our computer parts in the USA, doing do is damaging to the environment. It also uses a lot of water. Even though they reclaim their H2O, AZ doesn’t have much to spare. Perhaps if they stop farming cotton, they will have enough for the TSMC factory you were bragging about yesterday. Even so, water supplies are becoming less & less dependable. How about considering slowing growth until we get the climate under control?

3)    BURMA - Only one minute left, so I will quote from an Op Ed in the G today. “The junta’s increasing brutality is a sign of fear as well as further evidence of its viciousness. Some of those struggling for democracy now speak not of a coup, but an attempted coup; thanks to the resistance, they say, it has not yet succeeded. They need more support to ensure that it does not.”
