My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Thanks for designating Camp Hale, a National Monument. While honoring the efforts of the 10th Mt Division is important, protecting the sacred lands of the Tribal Nations is tantamount. I hope that the people of CO reward Sen Michael Bennet for his work to persuade you to make the designation. Do you think he’ll lose votes of ranchers that prefer land be available for mining & lumbering? Did anyone talk to you about renaming Mt Evans?

            Now that you have gotten the hang of designating National Monuments to protect sacred Tribal lands, you can go ahead & designate Avi Kwa Ame in Southern NV. The Yuman speaking tribes of the Mojave Desert would greatly appreciate knowing that their special mountain won’t be desecrated with wind farms.

            On your way to LA today, take a minute to check out #Revtober, an outgrowth of Inktober,  where Burmese artists tweet work every day of the month. Today’s #Revtober theme is Exorcism. My favorite image is of a monk & nun facing a row of soldiers & the text reads “Please Drive Away the brutality mind from the hearts of Terrorist Soldiers.” It expresses my sentiment.
