My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

I am back in business. My computer is operational. I had a good night’s rest. Students have swarmed the campus. My animal companion is pregnant. The pace is picking up around here & I am excited!!!!

Perhaps you are, too. I just finishing watching your speech to the UN. It seemed to go fine. I appreciated your comment that “our success is bound up with others” & “our freedoms are interconnected.” Your commitment to combatting climate change came through as did your hope for a 2-state solution in Israel. Best of all was your emphasis on the need to respect the dignity of every life.

With that in mind, I hope you will continue to increase the number of refugees that we allow into the country. Why stop at 125,000 when people around the world are fleeing hardships & we need ambitious workers?

Thanks for mentioning Burma in your list of countries being run by autocrats who use the threat of violence to intimidate citizens. I was disappointed to learn that the US & China have muzzled Kyaw Moe Tin, UN representative from Burma, when he could be the voice of all the oppressed citizens of Burma. I thought the UN was supposed to be the place where all people’s voices could be heard. Please consult with Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to find out how she is making sure she uses back channels to keep abreast of the developments in Burma.

When you meet with Australia PM Morrison today, I hope you tell him that you have reconsidered this nuclear sub deal & decided it’s not a good idea.

            BYBS,
