My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            It’s my dad’s birthday. He would have been turning 88 today and his mom would be 111. Yes, he was born on her 23rd birthday. She was a character! Known to be crass, she would be the first to admit that she got married after knowing my grandfather for a short time because she was “hot to trot.” My dad was crass, too. When I told him, I was going to be staying at the Drake Hotel in Chicago, he told me he was conceived there.  I work hard to suppress my own crassness, but my daughter would tell you, it occasionally sneaks out. You know how that is.

            I understand that the Boris Johnson’s G7 agenda is to get the world vaccinated by the end of 2022. Let’s get on board with that. Keep sending those Johnson & Johnson shots to developing countries as part of the Covax program. World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says they need a steady stream of vaccines rather than a huge supply dumped on them all at once. As you know getting the vaccine out to those who need it requires a lot of logistics, which can be complicated where roads are bad & refrigeration limited. After those strange deaths a few weeks ago, folks in the US are now afraid of the J&J vax, so we have plenty to spare. So, let’s keep sending vaccinations to countries in need.

            As you know, we need to limit the reproduction of the virus to avoid mutations, lest we get something that’s even worse that the viruses we are battling with now. I’m afraid that scientific literacy around the world is not sufficient so that people understand how evolution happens & that viruses change over the generations just like every other thing that reproduces. It’s a fundamental idea that some refuse to believe.

            In any case, I encourage you to promote the idea of vaccinating the world.
