My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

How was your weekend at Camp David? Did you get to spend some time with your grandkids? I got away from the Central Valley to visit my friend in Berkeley. That’s why you didn’t get a letter yesterday. I did worship with my Yangon Friends, including a man who is in Myanmar & worried about the lack of $$ in the ATM machine. Please continue to consider options for helping out.

My trip was a welcome respite, except for the fact that I hit traffic, both coming & going indicating to me that people are once again out & about. No more staying at home due to CV. Next time I’ll take my bike on Amtrak & take a snooze.

Now that Gaza has settled down, you can get back to making a deal on your infrastructure bill. Sen Susan Collins seems ready to bargain, but she’s not going to accept the idea that home health care counts as infrastructure funding. You have to admit that she has a point.

I love the idea of investing $50 billion into making roads safer for peds & bikes. Will that include funding for things like the Harry Wiggins Trolley Trail in KC that follows an old streetcar line? My daughter might be able to use that as she rides her bike to work from her new home.

Yes, you read that correctly, my 23-year-old daughter is taking advantage of the low interest rates to become a home owner! For $205,000 she has a contract to buy a 1500 sq. foot home. Very exciting!!!

I just wish that KC didn’t have so many murders. Today’s KCS has a story about Elijah Boston who was shot & killed on May 5 as he walked home from his job at Taco Bell. He was about to graduate from high school & head off to the Air Force. The KCPD does not have any leads. I know we share an interest in gun-violence prevention & hope we can make some headway especially in MO which has some of the most generous gun laws in the country.

Are you ready for the May Flower Supermoon Eclipse set to take place on Wed? It’ll be extra-large when it turns red – should be cool.

            BYBS,
