My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

I hope you have relaxing Sunday in Delaware. Perhaps you took a look at the WP this morning and noticed the editorial about your inconsistencies regarding refugees. They note that we have 33,000 refugees who have passed our rigorous screening standards & are waiting in refugee camps for your approval. You might have also noticed the editorial by G. W. Bush(GWB) about his new book, “Out of Many – One.” It features painting and stories of immigrants who have enriched our country, including Gilbert Tuhabonye (GT), who escaped his scorched school after Hutus murdered his classmates & teachers. He became a world-class runner & now inspires all kinds of folks in their running pursuits in Austin, TX. He raises $$ for water projects back in Burundi. He believes, “humanity is greater than the sum of all the world’s injustices.”

I encourage you to invite GWB & GT & all of the other people who appear in his new book to an event in celebration of immigrants to the WH. On that day you can announce your decision to make good on your campaign promise to welcome 125,000 refugees into the country. You can invite Mohammad Noyeem, a Rohingya refugee, who lives in Portland, OR, to tell his harrowing story of fleeing Myanmar to come to the US in 2015. Sen. Mazie Hirono can be your co-host & can tell her own refugee story of fleeing from Japan with her mom from an abusive patriarch.

I have a lot of empathy for refugees because my grandpa was a refugee who sweet talked his way onto a train to Finland from Russia in 1919, never to return there again. He was lucky to have an education & speak 3 languages, so he was able to sweet-talk his way into my grandma’s heart in Paris & eventually land in Montclair, NJ. He loved the US & was so grateful for the chance to come here.

You can also invite Sens. Josh Hawley (MO) & Roger Marshall (KS) to the event so that GWB can help them get over their Xenophobia.

BYBS,
