My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

Today you will reach your 100th hour in office. Yeah! I hope you found a few minutes to go to Mass.

I got up at 6:00 this AM to join Friends from around the world for silent worship under the auspices of Yangon Worship group. I hope you felt good vibes coming your way as I held you in the Light.

My buddy in MI, who coordinates us, was wrapped in his cozy blanket with snow falling gently in the background as we shared 45 minutes of silence. We had one message by a Friend in MA who told us about her recent experience celebrating the efforts of a Japanese diplomat to save the lives of 6000 Jews. Our elder in Japan had trouble staying awake since it was midnight for him, while our friend in Mayanmar was accompanied by his young daughter. At the close of meeting, our chatty participant from Tumbridge Wells, England, shared her sadness surrounding the deaf of a cousin, while our member in Poland showed off her 3-week-old son. As we visited at the close of meeting, we talked about the importance of cherishing life & reaching out to loved ones, as our time together on the Earth is fleeting. You have learned this lesson more than most, so you know what I’m talking about.

Thanks for signing the “Advancing Racial Equity Eexc Order”. As a geek, I greatly appreciated that you defined the terms “equity” & “underserved communities.” Having assessments & collecting evidence are most welcome, but most important of all is consulting members of underserved communities. Giving people a voice so they can determine how resources are used on their behalf is essential to achieving the social justice that continues to elude us.

As you know from his homily at the inauguration payer service, Rev William Barber II is promoting the idea of a Third Reconstruction to get us out of the jam that we are in. As he said, “Grant us wisdom and courage for the facing of this hour.”

            Peace be with you (PBWY),
