My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

It’s the last Sunday that I will be writing to you as my POTUS. Next Sunday, you will be in Florida, transforming your life into whatever it will be. According to Rick Wilson, Florida is the perfect place for you, “a state of lives restarting and second-chances and reboots and low property taxes and liberal bankruptcy laws and a fairly casual approach to public ethics.”

How are you going to reboot your life? Some people think you will start up your own media company. Your presidency certainly has invigorated many media outlets. The NYT & WP increased their circulation at a time when most newspapers have struggled. Your use of Twitter made that site into one of the media powerhouses of the world. It’ll be interesting to see how you choose to use your publicity wizardry in the next few years.

As you reboot, I hope you will devote much of your attention to helping the folks who have been adversely affected by CV. Now you can use your connections to all of those billionaires who donated to your reelection campaign, to raise money for unemployed &/or sick people. Robert Reich claims, “America’s billionaires could give everyone in the country $3000 stimulus checks & still be richer than they were before the pandemic.” I don’t know how he made that calculation, but it rings true to me. Now that Michael Tubbs is stepping down from his position as Mayor of Stockton, he can work with your team to share what he learned from his experiment with guaranteed income.

Please remember what MLK said, “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
