Friend, DJT,

How is NJ? It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day. I’m sure it will be tempting to play golf, but I hope you don’t. Having fun when so many are suffering is just not a good idea.

I was happy to see that you had a cordial dinner with NJ Gov Phil Murphy (PDM) & his wife. Did you make some kind of deal? What was PDM’s side of the deal? I was happy to hear that you agreed to support a federal investment in rebuilding the Portal Bridge. I am sure I’ve been over it many times going from Montclair to Hoboken when I lived with my grandma in the fall of 1983. I had no idea that I was traversing a bridge built in 1910. It’s pretty impressive that it’s still standing now that 450 trains go over it every day, and it opens 114 times a year to let barges through. I’m sure the engineers who designed it would be baffled that, given all of the advances in technology, we’re still using it.

Did you discuss the revolution? I decided to start calling the BLM movement, the “revolution,” after looking at the photo essay in today’s NYT of all of the protests around the country. The reporters got some of their info from a website called, Love Counts, which has maps of all of the locations in the USA that have had demonstrations. I wasn’t at all surprised that Montclair had one. But was surprised to see one in Iron Mountain, Michigan. That place is as far from “urban” as you can get. I don’t think that the protestors are just looking for an excuse to get out of the house. That video hit a nerve and folks with every possible melatonin level and every income level are hitting the streets. It’s phenomenal.

I was relieved to see that you decided to change the date of your rally. It’s a start on showing some sensitivity. Let’s keep moving in that direction. Shall we?

            HYITL,
