My dear Friend and POTUS, DJT,

How is the “keep calm” campaign going? I have been doing pretty well with my “keep clean” efforts and washed my hands several times yesterday with specific attention to my fingernails. I was troubled that one of my colleagues participated in a group meeting where she announced that she had the flu and then proceeded to use a clicker and then handed it off to someone else. If you were there, I’m sure you would have said something. I’m afraid that I did not.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the National Association of Counties meeting today. You might encounter Yolo County Supervisor, Oscar Villegas. One of his issues is cannabis cultivation. We need to figure out how that crop fits in with our grapes, almonds and tomatoes. It’s a great cash crop but we don’t want to use up all of our water growing pot. I understand that growing mind-altering substances was part of your conversation with President Duque yesterday. I’m sorry that you are pressuring him to use aerial spraying of glysophate to eradicate coca plants. That stuff is nasty and evidence suggests that it doesn’t impact crop production much. Better to incentivize planting other crops so kids don’t get cancer from the glysophate.

I am off to talk to a builder about fixing my second-floor deck. I might get a loan, now that the interest rates have gone down.

Folks here in the local Starbucks are talking about CV but their concerns have not stopped them from coming to a public place and spending $5.00 on a cup of coffee. I think the economy can weather this thing.

Have you made any bets on who is going to win the vote today? I was the 10th voter at my precinct this morning and marked the box next to EW’s name. It doesn’t hurt to dream.

            Best,
