My Dear Friend & POTUS , DJT,

I know that you had high hopes for your appointees in the Supreme Court, but their loyalties to the law of the country won out. As they noted, “Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.” Don’t you love that legalese? Judges Alioto & Thomas were willing to “grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief,” whatever that means. Clearly the SCOTUS is not going to overturn the election.

Numquam Concedere. I understand that is the motto on your Scottish coat of arms. I worry that you are taking that idea too literally. I’m sure you don’t want to go down in history as the President who didn’t know when to quit. As Kenny Rogers used to sing, “Know when to hold em. Know when to fold em….”

When you watch the Army-Navy game today, you will see the Midshipmen do their best as the underdogs. Not only are they playing at Westpoint for the first time in a long time, but they are on a 4-game losing streak.  Senior offensive tackle Billy Honaker is playing in honor of his teammate & BFF, David Forrney, who died suddenly of cardiac arrest in Feb. Perhaps that inspiration will help Navy overcome the odds. In any case, whoever loses the game will compliment the opposition when the game is over, learn the lesson of their loss & get on with their lives. I hope they will be an example to you.

            BYBS,
