My dear Friend, DJT,

The suspense may be over by the end of the day. I sure hope so.

GA has 8197 ballots left to deal with – ballots from overseas, ballots without the proper signature, ballots that require proper ID. Aren’t you impressed that they do their due diligence by following up with voters whose ballots have an issue so they can correct it? It’s all legal, so it should count. Right?

These left-over ballots remind me of grading. Most students submit their papers on time which they have completed according to my specifications. Then there are a few outliers – students who have special circumstances that prevent them from getting work in on time or cause them to complete the assignment in an unconventional fashion. It’s tempting to throw out those papers because they are a pain to deal with – but that’s not fair. The votes that are being counted today are like those late papers, & it’s only fair that those voters get their say in the election. Don’t you think?

I am intrigued by the distinction being made between “legal” votes and other votes. Can you tell from looking at a ballot whether it’s “legal” or not? You know how judges are sticklers for definitions. Are you sure you want to pay lawyers a bunch of $$ to fight this in court? I understand that there was a suit in GA over 53 ballots & another one in PA over 98 ballots, both of which have already been thrown out. I’m sure you don’t want your reputation tarnished with the idea that you file frivolous law suits.

I know you thrive on chaos, so perhaps you need to have your last hurrah before leaving office, but do you really want to be known as the President who “shreds the truth” as today’s LAT headline proclaims?

Let your better angels rule the day & please accept the results of the election with dignity & grace.

HYITL,
