DJT,

Welcome to CA. I'm sorry that you are visiting here under such grim circumstances. I believe that your visit will help you understand the complexity of this fire situation.

I was thrilled to hear you talking about managing the forest. You noted in your interview with Fox News on Sunday that you saw firefighters raking dead brush. You thought we could do be doing more to protect from fire. That's true. So how about sending some big bucks to CA's "Tree Mortality Task Force". We've got 129 million dead and dying trees that need to be cleared out of the woods. We'd love to get your help with that project.

I hope you are impressed by Beale Airforce Base when you land there today. I drive by it frequently on my way up to Sierra Friends Center. We can't see anything from the road so I was surprised to learn that it is home to a fleet of spy planes including the U-2 Dragon Lady. I encourage you to take a few minutes to meet with Lt. Col. Merryl Tengesdalto get a tour of one of those ladies. She's the commander of the 99th RS and is the first African American woman to fly one of those planes. You know it's a very special aircraft because it flies so high in the atmosphere that the pilot needs to wear an astronaut's outfit. It can carry 5000 pounds of radars, sonars and all of that surveillance gear. Pretty cool!

Everyone in No Cal is living under the shroud of those fires and we are suffering so

I hope you will be on your best and avoid irreverent comments when visiting the fire zone. Silence might be the best response.

Peace be with you,

RCA
