My dear Friend and President, DJT,

What was it like to be sitting with 3 other Presidents and their wives at the funeral yesterday? I wish it had been a happier occasion. Trevor Noah had some funny commentary about how awkward you all looked and joked that Melania didn't seem very happy to be sitting next to you. USA Today and other papers took note that you didn't recite the Apostles' Creed and speculated about whether you may have offended your Evangelical base. Don't feel bad about that one. I don't recite the Apostles' Creed either. I'm not too sure about the Virgin birth or resurrection, and I certainly don't think that Jesus spent 3 days in hell. I'm not going to compromise my morals just to conform to someone else's religious ritual and claim to "believe" something that I am dubious about. I do wonder, though, what do you believe?

I bring up that question because today you are hosting a Hanukkah Reception. Will you be lighting the menorah and wearing a yarmulke? I'm glad that you've invited all of the Jewish Congress people to the party this year. Rep. Nita M. Lowey of the 17th District in NY was pretty unhappy about being excluded last year. If she comes this year, you should chat with her about education and that new tunnel between NY and NJ. She's got some clout on the Appropriations Committee so you should be nice to her.

Have a nice lunch with Betsy today,

RCA
