Simplicity – I yearn for it. Don’t you? Everything would be easier if things were simple. Alas, they aren’t. Take the Israel/Palestine situation – super complicated, right? The Jews have suffered persecution since the time of Moses so, of course, they need a safe place. The Palestinians are poor farmers, minding their own business scraping by selling olive oil. Both are deserving folk who I sympathize with. I wish they could just get along, learn to share and find a way to live harmoniously together.

I bring this up because I think that Exec. Order that you signed yesterday that demanded universities fight anti-Semitism is misguided. College kids need to be able to freely argue with each other over what should happen in Israel. Sadly, the more dangerous anti-Semitism is being fomented on line and acted out by desperate people with guns – like the guy in Jersey City yesterday. Ugh!

Thanks for being so kind to 12-year old Austin Polanski during the Hanukkah party. I’m sure he will be the talk of the 7th grade and will wear his red Trump kippah to show off.
