Did you know that an algae bloom there is affecting the Senate election? Apparently, they are having a terrible Red Tide which is impacting the tourism industry. To top that, they are having a blue-green algae attack, too.
You are heading off to my birthplace today. I was surprised to see that you'll be speaking to the teens at the Future Farmers of America (FFA) National Conference. According to the IndyStar the FFA kids are excited about your visit. They're also excited about the Garth Brooks' concert.
I am curious about this Young Black Leadership Summit that you will be hosting at the WH today. I understand that it is sponsored by a guy named Charlie Kirk. I will have to investigate him another time. Candace Owens will be there. I wonder why young black males will be escorted by a woman.
When you were in Mosinee, did you hear about the upcoming Diwali celebration they will be having on Nov. 4 in Wausau? The local Hindu group is putting it on for the community and they'll be having Bollywood style dancing among other things. Isn't it great that the folks in Marathon County enjoy multicultural celebrations? We could all use a pick up at this time of year with reminders that Light overcomes darkness; good wins over evil and love trumps hate.
Folks up there are as psyched about your visit as they are about hunting. The bow season is already in progress. The gun season will be the week of Thanksgiving. You might ask what Gov. Walker is doing more to address Chronic Wasting Disease which has been found in the white tail herd and could devastate the hunting industry.
But I will show up, and according to Lizzie Fletcher (running to unseat 18-year incumbent John Culberson in the 7th Congressional District of TX) that's what matters most. John C. is going to need all the help he can get to beat Lizzie. His district has gone from being mostly Caucasian to being 62% non-White. Her campaign focuses on controlling flooding which is a big deal to the folks who were devastated by Harvey last year. She's got her work cut out for her but that race is an exciting one, don't you think.
I only have a minute to write. My Friends are already worshipping in silence getting ready for our Plenary Meeting where we will make sure that our reports are accurate and that our plan for our next meeting is clear. Quakers worry about "good order" which helps us avoid conflict by clearly communicating. You should give it a try.

Martha McSally, former fighter pilot; Krysten Simena, with her childhood of economic hardship; Hiral Tipirneni, emergency room doctor & Indian immigrant; Debbie Lesko, survivor of domestic violence; Ann Kirkpatrick, lawyer fighting for the rights of tribal nations; and Anita Malik, Indian-American tech entrepeneur. So much talent!
I did get to read about Marine Sgt Maj John Canley, the guy who got a Medal of Honor. According to Newsweek, John Ligato, who nominated Mr. Canley, had to cut through a lot of red tape. It took him 15 years to usher the nomination through. In the end Rep. Julia Brownley had to write legislation so Mr. Canley could receive the award. Apparently, he was honored for his heroics during a battle in the Tet Offensive, and is an incredibly humble guy.
The 22 5th graders were receptive. Teacher, first year rookie, Mr. Guillen, has established classroom community so they respectfully listened to me and to each other, stayed on task and successfully built complex polyhedron. It's magical when kids get engaged in intellectual work in the classroom!!! You should stop by and visit some day.
