5/5/2026
My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
At this moment, 7:26 AM to be exact, I read on my search engine, “President Donald Trump signed a proclamation today, May 5, 2026, in the Oval Office related to the Presidential Fitness Test.” According to your schedule the signing ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM EST.
Did you pre-sign the proclamation or is AI mixed up? What exactly is the contents of the proclamation? I suspect that AI presented the content of your proclamation from last year as if it were the contents of today’s proclamation because it seems to have trouble with timelines.
Do you use AI? I try not to, but I can’t help it because the search engines default to it whenever I do a query. There’s a way to turn this off, but sometimes I find the AI responses quite helpful.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because it’s time for us both to wake up & learn what we can about AI rather than feeling overwhelmed by it & assuming it’ll work itself out. I woke up to the fact that my cavalier attitude is no longer viable when my phone disturbed Meeting for Worship on Sun. It’s time to master AI! If we aren’t careful it will start running our lives.
I was relieved to see that your staff has been similarly enlightened. According to the NYT “the administration is discussing an executive order to create an A.I. working group that would bring together tech executives and government officials to examine potential oversight procedures.”
So, I request that you appoint Daniela Amodei to choose the people on the team. As I hope you are aware, she co-founded Anthropic with her brother & is committed to making AI ethical & safe. She’s got extensive experience in recruiting individuals who can work together as a team.
Speaking of waking up, some folks noticed that you seemed to doze off during your event yesterday. Best to keep your eyes open when your admin is extolling the benefits of your initiatives. If you prefer to rest your eyes ,you could tell everyone you were meditating.
SoW, I encourage you to learn about Vipassana, the type of meditation practiced by many in Burma. It involves “the slow, patient observation of things as they are, rather than as we wish them to be.” This kind of pause might help you master your own mind & root out corruption through self-observation. Ko Ko Aung alludes to this in his piece, “The Dhamma of accountability: Why Myanmar’s New Year celebrations cannot wash away the truth” which I commend to you to better understand MAH’s misguided attempt at legitimacy.
BYBS,
RCA
